Sleep well. Six hours is technically "enough," but eight is a full night's sleep. Find the time and get enough sleep. You will be more alert, more energetic, and less likely to hurt yourself throughout the day.

Drink enough water. Four quarts a day, or about a gallon, is the recommended amount for a typical adult.

Stretch before any strenuous physical activity. This is the best way to prevent a sports injury or throw your back out while lifting heavy boxes up and down the stairs. Even if you think you have stretched enough, stretch a little more.
